Speaker Profiles

Shaibaal Roy, Divisional Head of Sales Excellence, Spirax Group

Shaibaal Roy has over 35 years’ experience with steam and condensate systems. He has lived and worked in India, Canada and is currently the Divisional Head of Sales Excellence, based in the US. Shaibaal has worked on steam equipment design with special focus on sustainability and energy savings, and on processes with a view to improving productivity, safety and reliability of steam systems. Shaibaal has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Julian Kazan, Senior Energy Advisor, Enbridge

Julian Kazan is a Senior Energy Advisor that has been working with Enbridge’s customers on developing and supporting energy projects since 2018. He uses HVAC experience, technical knowledge and passion for energy conservation to help institutional customers identify solutions to lowering their operational and energy costs. He previously worked for two years as an Application Engineer with Mitsubishi Electric, specializing in commercial VRF and ventilation projects. Julian holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Ryerson University, and is certified as an Energy Manager and Energy and Measurement Verification Professional.

Ralf Klopf, CFO, Institute of Power Engineers (IPE) Ontario

Ralf Klopf holds a 2nd Class Power Engineer certificate of qualification and an RPA designation in Real Property Administration.  He has 46 years’ extensive practical work experience in a fast-paced facility services department within the Toronto District School Board.  He has served on many standing committees at the TDSB that include boilers/plant, water treatment, as well as purchase and processing.  Ralf has acted in the role of TDSB liaison with the TSSA ensuring that plant and building operations were maintained by municipal and provincial regulations.

He is also experienced in the business affairs and the structure associated with Board of Directors as past President of Condo Corporation MTCC 1023, and exposure in Municipal government as a previous elected Councilor in New Tecumseth.

Ralf has been a member in good standing of the Institute of Power Engineers since 1983.  He has held many positions within the institute from Branch President, Ontario Director, National President, and currently CFO of IPE Ontario.  Ralf has been a representative of the IPE at both provincial and municipal levels facilitating presentations and sitting on many public Ad-Hoc and standing committees; these include expert panels to the Government Ministry of Consumers Services and Technical Standard and Safety Authority BPV/OE Advisory Council.

Dan Lodge, Key Accounts Director, DuBois Chemicals Canada

Dan Lodge has 28 years of experience in industrial water treatment applications and management of programs for minimizing operating costs and maximizing asset life associated with industrial steam systems.  He is Key Accounts Director at DuBois Chemicals Canada, a major Canadian provider of Water Management Solutions to the industrial, institutional, and commercial sectors.  Dan is an alum of Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson) class of 1995.

Bob Montgomery, Boiler Room Technical Solution Specialist & Cleaver Brooks Certified Boiler Plant Optimization Specialist, Waterloo Manufacturing

Bob Montgomery of Waterloo Manufacturing Ltd has been in the boiler industry just shy of 25 years. He is a Cleaver Brooks certified Boiler Plant Optimization Specialist, Red Seal Electrician, and the Technical Solutions Specialist supporting the sales and service groups at Waterloo Mfg.
After 20 years working in industrial controls, he moved into the boiler industry as an employee of Cleaver Brooks for 13 years working in the controls and aftermarket side of the business. In 2013 he decided to seek a change to reduce the amount of travel and time away from his family and was fortunate to start with Waterloo Manufacturing as their Technical Solutions Specialist. In this role he provides technical support and training for all our staff and customers.
He recently added Aftermarket Solutions and boiler rentals to his responsibilities to help customers manage the life cycle of their boiler room assets.
His focus is to help customers continuously improve their boiler system through safety, reliability, efficiency and sustainability
