B&W and its subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Canada Corp. (B&W Canada), have a long history in Canada that dates to the late 19th century, when B&W partnered with Goldie & McCulloch, a Canadian manufacturer founded in 1844 and based in Galt, Ontario. This partnership evolved into Babcock-Wilcox & Goldie-McCulloch Ltd., which played a significant role in Canada's industrial development, and later became B&W Canada. B&W acquired its Babcock & Wilcox FPS, Inc. subsidiary in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, in 2022.
